As this example demonstrates, much more animation is possible, while keeping the files size small, as compared to the animated GIF format. This allows creative designers much for freedom to include such eye catching features as text fly-ins, fades, morphs, and sweeping motions to name a few. Smaller file size means lower bandwidth/serving expenses and faster ad load times. The end result is much better creative performance from the same size ad, in terms of both direct response and memorability.
